Trish Clark opened her original gallery in Auckland’s High Street in 1984, then representing such luminaries of New Zealand’s art history as Gordon Walters, Milan Mrkusich, Billy Apple, Max Gimblett, Stephen Bambury, Julia Morison and Christine Webster. Now located in a Category A heritage building at 1 Bowen Avenue, on the northern edge of Albert Park in Auckland’s CBD, the gallery represents in Australasia twenty one artists with diverse practices and spread across three generations: a number of renowned international artists, including Kimsooja, Alfredo Jaar and Anthony McCall, and several senior New Zealand figures sit alongside some emerging talents. Trish Clark periodically curates guest artists/artworks into her programme of innovative exhibitions across a variety of media.
